As global political patterns have been changing, there is an increasing recognition of women in global politics. Over the last two decades, their inclusion is growing in many regions on prominent positions. Some are presidents and prime ministers leading a state efficiently, others are policy and decision makers of country, and many are civil society activists.

So, the vivid inclusion of women in community, national and international headship roles has become an encouraging emphasis on global development policy. Female roles in politics helps to ensure greater services for citizens to fulfill their needs, better coordination in political parties and a much sustainable future.

Importance of Women Empowerment

The issue of gender equality can also be eliminated through emerging women participation. Although the number is still not equal to men but can contribute to the advancement. When more women are elected to parliament, the emphasis of policymaking would be on issues of human and women rights, minorities rights and quality of life. Women engagement is essential for genuine democracy.

Considering example of France, which has recorded largest share of women parliamentarians in EU. Not only France but also Arab, African, and Asian states have also substantial share of women in political fields. The development is more evident in terms of women empowerment. UN Women is the most recognized body for the promotion of women rights.

Despite of significant participation there is still gender inequality present in the global system. In order to overcome this issue women should break the glass ceiling by overcoming the self-imposed limitations to develop a strong political career. Additionally, to maintain a secure culture for women, the rate of violence indicted towards women in politics should be eradicated.

Domestic authorities should also play their part effectively for provision of women rights. The coalitions formed among different legislative, international, national actors and women activists can possibly promote better women roles. Nondiscriminatory measures should be taken especially in political party’s dynamics for safe and secure participation of women.

As, there is “No future without Women“
